Hello. Welcome to our AwakenAngels investor community and syndicate. Formed in 2023 by the AwakenHub leadership team, AwakenAngels is Ireland’s first all-island, women-led investment community and syndicate. Designed with women at the centre, we support founders in raising the capital they need and empower women to step confidently into the role of investor
Our mission
Our mission is to help women founders across Ireland secure the investment they need to grow their businesses while enabling others to shape their own financial future by providing angel investor education programmes and opportunities to invest in companies led by brilliant Irish women.
Through education, community, and collaboration, AwakenAngels supports women in building, backing, growing, and benefitting from successful women-led ventures across the island of Ireland.
As a result, with the unwavering support of InterTradeIreland and the British Business Bank, we have established a new and comprehensive funding and angel investor education ecosystem across the island of Ireland that has made an immediate and noticeable impact.
What we've achieved already
Helped 8 founders collectively raise £3.7 million in early-stage funding
Grown to 140+ syndicate members (seasoned and novice investors
Trained 75 novice angel investors through our structured CPD-accredited programme
Built a community of 13 experienced deal leaders, guiding rigorous due diligence
Supported 8 innovative portfolio companies (with 3 more currently in due diligence)
Featured in the 2024 Investing in Women Code Annual Report as a best-practice case study and earned membership of Business Angels Europe
Why we're needed
We need to continue on our mission because, despite women-led startups far outperforming and outpacing male-led firms in terms of the revenue they generate relative to the capital they raise, investment in women-led businesses remains at only 2% globally.
In addition, the investment ecosystem is ripe for change.
In 2025, women in Ireland are projected to own 50% of the nation's wealth.
